SHARED Futures is working in Northern Ireland with YouthNet and other key partners and community organisations to consult young people about an inclusion project that brings together young people from new black and minority ethnic (BME) and host communities for a residential weekend. The weekend will engage the young people in positive awareness-raising and team-building activities, and to the planning of a project to increase the welcome to Northern Ireland of young people from new BME communities.

What the young people learn from the project, and what they subsequently develop as a welcome resource, will be launched and disseminated to youth work settings across Northern Ireland. The young people will be trained during the project as peer educators to play a central role in the welcome resource's distribution.

In addition, youth workers with gain professional development in areas of participation and inclusion of young people from new BME communities.
